The Federico Visconti (1617-1693) collection is represented in the Museum by five works of art, including a small panel by Cerano and two paintings by Filippo Abbiati, but in all comprises about 40 drawings and paintings, almost all by twelfth-century artists. This is a complex collection that grew over different periods, with increasing interest for Lombard art, precisely in view of its inclusion in the collections of the Milanese bishops.
