TEACHING PROJECTS
Teaching Projects
There are two teaching projects the Pozzobonelli Project, for primary school pupils, and the Due Basiliche Project, which targets secondary school pupils.
The novelty of these projects lies in the method, as well as in the contents: the child or teenager is not a passive listener to a "story", but the "author" of an itinerary in direct interaction with schoolmates and teacher.

Pozzobonelli Project

The project, aimed at primary school pupils, offers children a visit to the Diocesan Museum's Pozzobonelli Collection that will guide them into contemplation of nature and the potential for changing the world through a message of beauty and peace. The Pozzobonelli Collection should, in fact, be seen as one of the greatest expressions of the Arcadian culture that was so popular in 1700s Milan.
The methodology conceived for this first study pathway is based on the use of a booklet containing fascinating and amusing suggestions, which allow the child to follow a mysterious thread that links one work of art to the next. During this journey, children acquire notions of magical images and considerations that in a sphere of childhood experience will encourage thinking about the whys and wherefores of the world, of life and virtue.
A teacher's folder is also available, providing a series of indications for supporting pupils during the tour and the workshop, as well as some useful tips for continuing study back in the classroom.

Guide-diary for each child: Euro 2,00
Teachers who accompany the class are offered free entry (up to two persons per class) and a copy of the teacher's folder.

Due Basiliche Project

The project organized for secondary school pupils begins at the Diocesan Museum and continues around the Ticinese quarter, between the two basilicas that have been so significant for the history of Milan, from the time of the first Christian settlements; the purpose of this tour is to provide stimulus for considering the historical, religious and artistic moments that have cadenced the intellectual and spiritual evolution of the city, helping teenagers to focus their attention on today's issues and offer them the opportunity to think about seeking true reference values.
The visit includes a tour in five stages: from the columns of San Lorenzo and the chapel of Sant'Aquilino, also in San Lorenzo, then onto visit the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio and the Portinari chapel, ending at the Diocesan Museum to observe the most significant works of art in its collections.
Each student is given interactive fact sheets containing relevant information, whereas teachers will be provided with a short guidebook to accompany them along the route, containing not only the same fact sheets given to students, but also a file of introduction and in-depth analysis for use in class discussion. The complete tour requires about three hours.

Educational art and history fact sheets per student: Euro 2,00
